Trip Introduction

Nepal’s most famous landmark is the Mt. Everest. You will have an option to hike in an early morning. Other than Mt’ Everest, there is much more to explore and experience in Nepal.

Pashupatinath is a place in Nepal full of Hindu culture. This is where holy Saddhus pray and cremations on the Bagmati River are carried out. Bouddhanath is the holiest shrine for the Buddhist culture in Nepal. This is where all devout Buddhists come for a pilgrimage because of its large stupa. Patan or Lalitpur is the city of beauty and is the second largest town in the valley. It has a lot of architectural ancient masterpieces. Patan’s Durbar Square is filled with temples. It is an architectural center point. Within this city also located is the Tibetan refugee center which is home to most of the valley’s Tibetan population. Tibetans are literally refugees but they are some of the wealthiest people in the valley due to its big carpet industry. You can buy fine and unique carpets here. Swayambhunath, the golden spire of the 5thcentury, is one of the most recognizable symbols in Nepal and the painted eyes of Buddha were believed to watch those who ascend the stone steps.Swayambhu stupa is garlanded with a colorful fluttering of prayer flags; it crowns a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley and offers fantastic views over the city of Kathmandu.

In Pokhara town, the 25,000+ peaks of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges rise a scant 20 miles away with no intervening ridges to spoil the scene. Also in Pokhara is the Bindebasini Temple. This is one of the oldest temples in Pokharawhich was a part of Kaski Kingdom; Goddess Durga is the main deity of the temple which was brought from India. There is much peace and calmness here. It also offers a good view to the Himalaya. The temple is in the area of the bazaar; hence a journey of the old bazaar can be combined with a visit to the temple. The village of Sarangkot is situated on the top of a hillock just north of Phewa Lake. One can see the dramatic views of sunrise and sunset here as the sun splashes red hues on the Himalayan range. When the sky is clear, the panoramic ranges of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and Ganesh Himal can be observed from here.  One can also sightsee the Devi’s fall. During summer and rainy season, with gushing water splashing and making its way through the rocks, the waterfall takes its real form. Opposite to the Devi’s all is the Gupteshwor Cave which is popular for the different natural forms made from limestone deposits. On the way back to Nagarkot, the panoramic view of several mountain peaks like Mt. Everest can be observed. Beautiful sunrise and sunset can also be seen.
