Ganesh Himal Trek

TRIP AN OVERVIEW

An early introduction of Ganesh Himal Trekking could be a place where you can explore climbing stairs and rocks, hiking over terraces and jungles, crossing suspension bridges over rivers and canyons, walking through the amazing ancient types of villages facing toward snowy peaks. The gentle easy –moderate trekking requires almost two weeks which starts from  Kathmandu – Trishuli bazaar then continuing through upper Dhading district to Gorkha at the end.

A  Sherpa team of escorts from Kathmandu and Trishuli bazaar will lead your trekking smoothly with some stops on the way for lunch and tea / Pee. Grey monkeys can also be seen by the side of the road at the time of short stop.

It is one of the non touristy unbeaten path in Nepal which is situated in central Nepal, northwest of Kathmandu.Ganesh Himal trekking offers many interesting ethnic groups, a mix of lifestyle into real Nepali life and this gives visitors an opportunity to observe the rich Nepalese tradition by passing through the villagers where the children greet you with "Namaste". You may greet them friendly since they will be waiting for you to be as much as close to your camera. Do not forget to take a photo snap with them.

Ganesh Himal trekking is recommended by many trekkers though it is not as popular as Annapurna and Everest but still  you will see beautiful Himalayan views including Ganesh Himal ,Tibetan Himal, Langtang Himalaya range , Rolwaling Himalaya range , Mansalu Himalaya range and an excellent habitat for a wide variety of plants and animals; 526 species of plants (including 40 species of orchids), and 300 species of birds including wild animals  such as Himalayan thar, gaur, many kinds of monkeys and musk deer.

Even you are exhausted and willing to go to bed early evening, children from the close by villages come to your tent to sing and dance. It sounds like a Picnic spot that you are visiting since most of the part of trekking is through villages inhabited by Brahmans, Chhetris in low elevation and Gurungs, Tamangs in higher altitude of the trek.

Only trek of its own kind Ganesh Himal is to offer many suspension bridges and then walk on a higher-lying path where the river merges with another one, we cross a big, iron bridge.

Finding a good spot for the tents, because the ground is slanting and bumpy, camping in the side of buckwheat (millet), paddy filed and on the edge of the village is the only possibility, one can experience an old man enjoying a hookah, man plough his field with oxen and a women transports goods to the village in a so-called Namlo when ahead of her, a view of snowy mountain peaks..

Occasionally morning begins with a steep ascent & descents back through the village. A level stretch follows and then we go up steeply over a landslide. We have to cross a scary wooden bridge without handrails.

In our trekking tradition, we have an elaborate goodbye dinner and for dessert we have a cake that says "Good Luck". Our escorts also give us a bottle of Nepalese whiskey. Here you can offer everyone cake and give the guide a tip for the whole group and thank them for this perfect tour.
